The Miami Dolphins may need to pay another wide receiver soon if Tyreek Hill gets his way.
Hill has been pushing for a new contract from the Dolphins since the end of the 2023 season, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Hill signed a four-year, $120 million extension with Miami when he was traded there, but the market has changed and that deal now looks extremely team-friendly.
Hill’s desire for a new deal has only grown since AJ Brown of the Philadelphia Eagles also got a new contract. Brown and Hill were traded in the same offseason and signed new deals at roughly the same time. Brown signed his three-year, $96 million contract extension in April.
There are two years remaining on Hill’s current contract, though he is highly unlikely to see the final year of it, which carries a $45 million payout. The Dolphins also just signed their other standout wide receiver to a big contract, which may only intensify Hill’s desire to get something done.
Hill was outstanding in 2023, tallying a league-leading 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdown catches.
