Jayden Daniels is the latest player to sign his rookie contract.
Daniels has signed a four-year, $37.7 million deal that is fully guaranteed. As is standard for first-round draft picks in the NFL, the Washington Commanders will have a fifth-year option on Daniels’ services.

Daniels was selected No. 2 overall by Washington in April. He is the highest draft pick to sign so far. Daniels is also the third of the six quarterbacks taken in the first round to sign. No. 3 pick Drake Maye signed with the Patriots on May 28, and No. 12 pick Bo Nix signed with Denver on May 10.
Williams (No. 1 to Chicago); Michael Penix Jr. (No. 8 to Atlanta); and J.J. McCarthy (No. 10 to Minnesota) have yet to sign their rookie deals.
Though he is a rookie, Daniels is treating his job seriously. The young quarterback told reporters this week that he had been getting into the Commanders’ facility at 5:45 a.m. every day to prepare and practice at minicamp.
