Veteran wide receiver Davante Adams reportedly requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this week, sparking a wildfire of speculation. He added fuel to that fire with a cryptic post on Instagram before a follow-up seemed to suggest he was just toying with people.
“Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see,” Adams posted, quoting poet Edgar Allan Poe.
Adams, who has been ruled out against the Denver Broncos due to a hamstring injury, remains away from the team but a trade does not appear imminent. More specifically, a trade to the Ravens does not appear imminent.
I’m told there’s “nothing going on” with the #Ravens and #Raiders WR Davante Adams at this time, per source. Yesterday I was also told there was nothing to report on this front.
While the trade market is generally fluid, that’s the tone right now. https://t.co/AghKoAucxp

Although it was Adams who stirred the Ravens controversy, he reportedly desires a trade to the New York Jets so that he can reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The New Orleans Saints, where Derek Carr lines up under center, are also among the teams atop his wishlist.
The only team allegedly out of the running for Adams is the wide receiver-needy Kansas City Chiefs.
When the time comes to finalize any potential trade, the Raiders are believed to be seeking a second-round pick and additional compensation in exchange for the six-time Pro Bowler.
The Raiders have until Tuesday, November 5 at 4:00 p.m. ET to trade Adams but both sides would like to see a resolution before that.
