The Baltimore Ravens leaned on some unlikely names to come back and beat the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, and one of them was tight end Charlie Kolar.
Kolar, the Ravens’ third-string tight end, had three catches for 64 yards, including a touchdown and a 55-yard reception. It was easily one of the best games of Kolar’s young career, as the third-year tight end had 170 total receiving yards in his career coming into Sunday’s game.
Kolar’s 55-yard grab, in which he got into the seam and got behind the defense, was a particular highlight. It helped set up a touchdown that brought the Ravens to within 24-21 early in the third quarter.

How did this happen? Kolar had the perfect explanation. In his words, the Bengals defense was so fixated on the team’s other tight ends, Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, that they “forgot about the fat white guy running down the seam.”
TE Charlie Kolar on his 64-yard catch: “They got so focused on Mark (Andrews) and Zay (Likely) that they forgot about the fat white guy running down the seam.”

Kolar caught a touchdown on the Ravens’ next drive, and Baltimore wound up coming back to win 41-38 in overtime. Thanks to his performance, Lamar Jackson fantasy managers should be a little happier this week.
