The Cleveland Browns summed up their season so far, at least on offense, with one embarrassing goal line sequence early in the second half of Sunday’s game.
The Browns got a massive break during the game against the Washington Commanders at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. just after the start of the third quarter. Cleveland recovered a fumble at the Washington 30, then got the ball down to the 2-yard line on two pass plays.
That was where everything fell apart. A false start penalty moved them back to the 7, then they had to call timeout to avoid a delay of game thanks to disorganization after the penalty. Watson then took a sack and then threw a pair of incompletions, bringing up 4th and goal.
The Browns were poised to go for it, but were still wildly disorganized and were not going to get the play off in time. Instead of wasting another timeout, they took the delay of game and ultimately kicked the field goal.
So the run down for #Browns ineptitude on offense just this past drive is…
1. False Start at WSH-2
2. Timeout BEFORE running another play
3. A sack allowed
4. An incompletion under pressure
5. A delay of game before field goalThey have two scoring drives (6-10 & 6 -17).

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski seemed visibly disgusted with quarterback Deshaun Watson after the delay of game.
Stefanski was disgusted at Deshaun Watson here.
The Browns were going to go for it on 4th-and-Goal, but instead take the delay of game and kick the Field Goal.
Watson simply has no command of the Offense right now. pic.twitter.com/czT0PJNW6D

This is just the latest chapter in the struggles Watson and the Browns have had all season. In this particular instance, the team was hit by a lack of discipline, poor organization, and ineffective play. No wonder Stefanski was so livid.
