Davante Adams wasted absolutely no time securing some custom equipment after the star wide receiver landed with a new team this week.
Adams was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets on Tuesday. Later that day, Adams shared photos on social media that showed off his two new pair of custom No. 17 Jets-colored cleats.
That was fast.
Adams requested a trade from the Raiders a few weeks ago. The Jets were viewed as the favorite to land him from the start. Aaron Rodgers said he heard the Adams news when he was driving home from Monday night’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, so the deal obviously came together at some point before that. Either someone was able to make Adams’ new cleats very quickly, or he knew about the trade for several days.
It became clear during the offseason that Rodgers was pushing for a reunion with Adams. Maybe the quarterback had the cleats waiting for when he finally got his wish.
